Mark E Moroney
Dreams
I'm Mark Moroney from Dickinson, Texas. If you know me, you know that I've been an avid singer/songwriter for most of my life. But I took the conventional career route of working a long and fulfilling career in engineering, raised a family, coached youth sports, etc... Then I retired. And while trying to figure out what to do next in life, I started writing songs again.
I've almost always been in a band my entire life. I was in many cover bands and a few that also did original music. Two bands were all original music. And although that format is more difficult to pursue, it also brought me the most joy and fulfillment.
Songwriting is a craft that is fun but can be challenging at times. I go through periods of great inspiration and long dry spells. After retiring from engineering, I just started writing songs again. I tried to partner with a few people but everyone was busy. So I decided to do it alone. And this is how my first solo album project began in September 2025.
It's always been a dream of mine to write and record my own music. It's my happy place. In my youth, music was a significant force. Growing up in the 60's and 70's and all of the amazing, talented musicians and singers that still influence popular music today, I was awe struck. And I still am. But I want to throw my hat in the ring too. I've got stories to tell, emotions to express and melodies to sing.
I did find an amazing producer and musician to help me with this journey. Jon Statham has really helped to bring these songs to life. It's been so easy working with him. I write the songs, put the melodies to basic guitar chords, send him videos of me playing and singing the songs and he takes it from there. Next thing I know there is real music to sing to. I put my vocals to the music and he mixes and puts his talents on display with a very polished and professional sound. We averaged about 1 song a month.
I hope that you enjoy these songs as much as I do. This is who I am. This is me. There is no AI involved. It's 100% music from my heart to yours.
